Airwaybills
The respective rights and obligations of the various parties in air transport are often laid down in the air waybills. The air waybill provides proof of the conclusion of the contract of carriage, the receipt of the goods and the conditions of carriage.
Disputes in this context often relate to the applicable treaty regime (the Warsaw system or the Montreal Convention) and the air waybills issued by shippers and airlines. The extent to which the carrier can limit its liability will depend to a large extent on the applicable Convention.
