Traffic tax during Corona

Carriers forced to stop one or more vehicles due to the Corona crisis can temporarily stop the traffic tax for this purpose.

This can be done quickly and completely free of charge. It is sufficient to file a declaration with the Flemish Tax Administration. When the vehicles in question enter service again afterwards, a new traffic tax return must be submitted. It is not necessary for the vehicle to be parked for at least 30 days. Be careful, however, if you submit a new tax return in the same month, you will have to pay for this calendar month. The tax return form can be reached via this link.

As a support measure, the Flemish Tax Administration also grants postponement to companies to pay the annual traffic tax, so that they do not run into liquidity problems. For the assessment year 2020, companies are granted a 4-month deferment of payment of the annual traffic tax.
